When you create a child profile, you provide details like your child's nickname, favorite animal, favorite color, and interests. Our AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) weaves these details into each story, making your child the star of a brand-new adventure every night. The more details you provide, the more unique and engaging the stories become.
When do stories arrive?
Stories are delivered to your email inbox each evening at approximately 7:00 PM in your local time zone. This timing is designed to align with most bedtime routines, giving you a fresh story ready to read together each night. Delivery times may vary slightly depending on email provider processing.
How do I pause my subscription?
You can pause story delivery at any time from your account dashboard. Pausing stops story generation and delivery without cancelling your subscription. Your child profiles and preferences are saved, so when you're ready to resume, everything picks up right where you left off. You will not be billed during a paused period.
How do I cancel?
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard or by emailing waylan@getdavid.ai. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you'll continue to receive stories until then. There are no cancellation fees or penalties.
How is my child's data protected?
We take your child's privacy very seriously. We only collect a nickname and story preferences — never a full name, date of birth, or photo. All data is stored on encrypted US-based servers (Supabase) and is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing. We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), and all accounts are held by parents or guardians. You can request complete data deletion at any time.
Why can't I reply to story emails?
